Hi, my name is Carolyn Bennett and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have lived and/or worked in the Yaak for about 35 years. I spent 10 years working for the Forest Service where they actually paid me to work in the woods where I live! In later years my husband and I ran a logging business here. The Yaak is a small community of people surrounded by the National Forest, where we work and play. If you like to hike, fish, hunt or simply enjoy the plentiful wildlife, this might be the place for you. The Yaak Valley consists of approximately 2% private property down in the river bottom and the rest is the majestic Kootenai National Forest.
